In the winter of 1873, Anna Boyd Ellington, Eva Webb Dodd and Mary Comfort Leonard founded Delta Gamma in Oxford, Mississippi, at the Lewis School for Girls. Anna, Eva and Mary were in pursuit of creating a club of mutual helpfulness. Before determining a name for their club, our founders identified our Fraternity’s mission, “Do Good.”
In February of 2018, Delta Gamma came to Brown University with the purpose of making history on Brown's campus and in DG and has since worked to inspire a sense of true belonging, and activate growth and advancement opportunities in our members.
We are a group of female-identifying individuals who strive to authentic, driven, purposeful, and supportive within our chapter in the greater Brown and Providence communities. Delta Gamma empowers women of impact by merging individual strengths into collective power because the pursuit of doing good is never done.
